The Golden Age of happiness behind us
Now we see the vultures on the wing
All the ancient songs of hope always remind us
So we all tune in to hear our leaders sing

And we know the words to sing because they told us
But the generals and the billionaires all know
We'll be buried under the dead land they sold us
And there's always something wrong still we sing along
How could we all be so wrong?

It's a poison communion we're all receiving
While the families of the victims write the books
And there might just be one word that's worth believing
When the people give their leaders wicked looks
